Job Description

The Level II Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing advanced preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all facility and manufacturing equipment. This role ensures operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and workplace safety through expert knowledge across multiple skilled trades. The technician will diagnose, repair, and optimize mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Open Shifts:

2nd Shift: 1:00PM - 9:30PM (Mon - Fri)

Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Conduct routine inspections of manufacturing equipment to identify wear, malfunction, or inefficiencies.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance in accordance with established schedules.
  • Diagnose and repair complex equipment failures using appropriate tools, schematics, and manuals.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors for specialized repairs.
  • Lead and support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action initiatives to eliminate recurring issues.
  • Accurately complete and manage work orders using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and safety checks.
  • Adhere to and enforce OSHA and Cal/OSHA safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and compliance training as required.
  • Monitor inventory levels of critical spare parts and consumables.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to source cost-effective replacement parts and supplies.
  • Track parts usage, lead times, and reorder thresholds to minimize downtime.

Technical Skills – Multi-trade Expertise

Must demonstrate strong proficiency in the eight (8) of the trades below.

Additional Duties

  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Work independently or in teams to complete assigned projects on time.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related technical field preferred .
  • A minimum of 8 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required .
  • Trade certifications (e.g., HVAC, Electrical, Welding, ASE, etc.) are a strong plus .
  • Must be able to wear a respirator in accordance with company policy and safety regulations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
  • Proficient in the use of CMMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication skills—both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Willingness to cross-train and continuously develop skills in all areas of maintenance.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and lift.
  • The ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. frequently and 25 lbs. regularly.
  • Must have full range of motion and the ability to use hand tools and equipment.
  • Respirator use is required for certain tasks

Work Environment

  • Exposure to manufacturing environments with loud noise, moving machinery, and occasional fumes, airborne particles, or hazardous materials.
  • May work at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required and provided.
