We are seeking a Senior Level Electrical Engineer to join the team in Jacksonville, GA, and lead the planning, execution, and completion of Capital Projects. This role is responsible for ensuring that all project activities align with mill goals for safety, quality, cost, and environmental compliance. The Senior Electrical Project Engineer will take ownership of projects from inception through equipment installation and start-up, developing scopes, cost estimates, and schedules, and ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget. They will provide technical expertise and oversight to vendors, consultants, contractors, and internal teams, reviewing detailed engineering drawings, managing design activities, and conducting project design review meetings to keep all stakeholders aligned.
The position requires a hands-on leader who can coordinate and supervise construction and start-up activities while maintaining strong collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, and management teams. This engineer will ensure all project documentation, drawings, and equipment information are accurately maintained in the Engineering Document Control System. Beyond project execution, they will provide technical support to plant operations, drive continuous improvement efforts, and utilize tools like Root Cause Failure Analysis and Pareto charting to reduce variability and enhance reliability. A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and at least five years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment are required, with pulp and paper experience preferred but not essential. Project management skills, familiarity with AutoCAD, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams are key to success in this role.
