This position would be ideal for a college graduate seeking their first job or someone with a couple of years of insurance administration experience. The opportunity to learn and potentially advance exists. We need a highly motivated individual to join our claims team.The Claims Assistant is responsible for providing superior customer service to insureds, agents, claimants and others that are encountered during general claim handling. This professional is responsible for administrative functions necessary during the lifecycle of transportation claims. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Loss intake and set up
• Provide loss runs to internal and external customers
• Maintain data bases
• Answer routine claims questions
• Assist with adjuster assignments
• Assist with salvage processing
• Verify and determine applicability of coverage
• Responsible for providing superior customer service to all agents, insureds, and others encountered during the claims handling process

REQUIREMENTS

• College degree or 2 years of insurance administration experience is preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs and an aptitude to learn new programs
• Will abide by departmental policies and procedures
