  • ​This job is a member of the Revenue Accounting Team within the Finance Division.
  • ​Responsible for reporting and analyzing data related to credit card disputes, payment processing, operations and fees, as well as assisting in identifying process improvements

What you'll do

  • Provides in depth analysis of processing volumes, including issue identification and root cause analysis

  • Develops dashboards and reports to summarize and communicate operational metrics

  • Evaluates developments in the payment industry and how they impact American

  • Works closely with internal teams to coordinate resolutions on production problems, cost reduction initiatives and associated payments reporting/policy/fraud issues

  • Helps maintain American’s relationships with all domestic and international credit card schemes, processors and other payment partners

  • Builds consensus with other internal departments such as Sales, aa.com, Information Technology, Legal, Cobrand, and Marketing

  • Serves as a liaison to the Payment product delivery team related technology projects

  • Assists with transaction level processing such as rejects and exceptions

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or other relevant field or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years related work experience in similar field/position

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Master's or other Advanced degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Willingness to take initiative and ownership
  • Ablility to logically structure analysis of complex issues and develop solutions to business problems and operational challenges
  • Ability to create process documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple relationships and projects, prioritizes opportunities, and take initiative towards achieving common goal
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Able to build relationships and interact productively with various departments and all levels of management
  • Work in a team environment as well as be successful independently
